Basically, electrical transformers are passive devices to transform alternating current electric energy from one circuit to another through electromagnetic induction.
It comprises a ferromagnetic core and two or more coils, known as windings. A changing current is the primary winding creates an alternating magnetic field in the core. With this action, an alternating voltage is induced in each of the secondary coils.

The circuit breakers are devised to be activated automatically in the event of a short circuit or any condition that produces a sudden current. By breaking the circuit, they interrupt this flow of current, preventing any damage to the appliances and electric shock to workers.

The power requirements being huge can add up to the total costs of operations if conscious efforts for power savings are not made.
